THE RACE
On Thursday October 29th 2009 CANFAR’s “Rubber your Ducky” slogan got a little bit quackier. One fateful Thursday, over 220 rubber ducks went careening down the mighty Massawippi River in Lennoxville, Quebec - cheered on by their faithful supporters.
With help from the Bishop’s University Student Representative Council and a group of dedicated students, the Bishop's University CANFAR Club raised $1,000 dollars for the fight against HIV/AIDS. After all the commotion had subsided and the water had settled, 3 ducks were crowned as prize-winners. Every single ducky was rescued before being lost to the larger St. Francois River.
MAKE YOUR OWN DUCKY DASH
Students! Ask yourselves, have you ever squeezed 220+ rubber ducks into a bathtub? If not, you may want to look into it.
For those readers looking for a refreshing fundraiser to put together on your campus, look into organizing a Ducky Dash. You can do some good while having A LOT of fun.
